Having a solid Quality Control program is, and should be, the pillar of a good precast concrete plant. Without good QC, your product becomes questionable and can be downright catastrophic in certain situations. Here are a couple of reasons Quality Control should be of utmost importance in your precast plant.
1. Poor quality control can lead to catastrophic failure. I realize this sounds very theatrical, but quality control is so monitored for a reason. It takes a little laziness to miss putting the proper rebar in the concrete for it to fail after installation. This could cause an entire wall to come crumbling down and we will not even touch on what would happen to whatever that wall was holding up!
2. This one is obvious. Money! Poor quality control causes failure, which leads to that huge concrete pile, with rusting rebar pieces poking out, hidden in the back corner of the property.
3. Compliance with Standards and Regulations: Many construction projects require precast concrete products to comply with industry standards and building codes. Quality control processes ensure that products meet these standards and regulatory requirements, reducing the risk of non-compliance issues during project inspections and approvals.
